Terms of Service
Last updated 7 September 2026
These are the terms you're agreeing to when you use Tally. We've kept them short and in plain English, because nobody reads the other kind.
The short version
- Tally is free, and it comes as it is — no guarantees.
- What your team puts in is your team's business. You're responsible for it.
- A fine in Tally is a record, not a payment. No money moves through the app.
- Misuse the platform and we can suspend the account.
- Australian law applies.
Agreeing to these terms
Creating an account or joining a team means you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't, don't use Tally.
Your account
- Use a real name and an email address you can get to.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
- One account per person.
- An account for anyone under 16 should be set up and run by a parent or guardian.
Your team's data is yours
The fines, votes, results, rolls and photos your team puts into Tally belong to your team, not to us. We store them and show them back to you.
That also makes them your responsibility. You need the right to upload what you upload — a club crest, a photo with someone else in it — and you're responsible for the records being accurate and fair. Admins can add, edit and delete anything in their team, so pick them carefully.
We don't check, moderate or umpire what a team records. If someone reckons a fine is rubbish, that's a conversation for your team. Tally shows what an admin entered, and that's all it does.
Fines are a record, not a debt we collect
Tally doesn't process payments. No money moves through the app, and we're not part of any arrangement your team has about paying up. We won't chase a fine, enforce one, or refund one — the amounts in the app are a tally your team keeps, the way it would on paper behind the bar.
What's not on
Don't use Tally to:
- Harass, bully or abuse anyone, or post content that does.
- Upload anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to.
- Reach data belonging to a team you're not in.
- Break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the app, or get around the way access works.
- Spam people, or send anything through it you wouldn't say to their face.
Reporting something
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive behaviour towards other people using Tally. If you see either, report it: there's a report form in the app, or email Sean.Woolnough@outlook.com.
We look at every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these terms is removed, and the account behind it can be suspended or closed.
You don't have to wait for us. A team admin can remove anyone from their team straight away in team settings, which cuts off their access immediately, and you can leave a team yourself at any time.
Suspending accounts
If an account or a team misuses the platform, breaks these terms or puts other people at risk, we can suspend or remove it. Where we can we'll give you a heads up and a chance to fix it first; where it's serious we'll act straight away.
Think we've got it wrong? Email Sean.Woolnough@outlook.com and we'll take another look.
No warranty
Tally is provided free and as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, always be correct, or always do what you were hoping. Features can change or disappear, and if we ever have to shut it down we'll give you notice and a chance to get your data out.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Those guarantees apply whatever these terms say. Where the law lets us limit what we owe you, our liability is limited to supplying the service again.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for lost or corrupted data, a notification that didn't arrive, a decision your team made off the back of what the app showed, or any indirect loss. Keep your own copy of anything that really matters — the stats page prints to PDF for exactly that.
Changes to these terms
We'll post any changes here with a new date at the top. Carrying on using Tally after that means you're happy with them.
The legal bit
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there deal with anything that can't be sorted out between us.
